I am Jan-Erik Ek and I got my first Labrador in 1973. She was a lovely yellow bitch called Minnows Leonora and was sired by Ch Powhatan Sentry out of Roydwood Right In Line. We started showing her at 4 months old and got off to a very good start under Michael Boothroyd. She was never made up but she did well and was well placed under breeder judges such as Margareth Clayton (Ardmargha), Margot Woolley (Follytower), Miriam Kinsella (Brentchase) and Jessie Taylor (Whatstandwell).

In 1977 she was bred to Ch Baronor Phoenix and had a litter of 7 pups, all were shown with good results and her one and only proegny group was placed 3rd at a general championshipshow in the big final.

During my teenage years I was frequently showing dogs for other people and was also stewarding quite a bit too.

In 1987 I met Karl-Åke Antonson, Silverprint Skyes, and together we bought a property that used to be farm. We were able to keep more dogs and I imported Glebehouse Black Pearl of Fabracken from Anne Taylor and shortly afterwards Blondella Bally Who JW who was owned in partnership with Ken and Hazel Burton.They both produced well for me and  are both behind winners to this day.

 I then bought Smart Fellows Never With Out from Yvonne Westerlund and today I have her great granddaughter Thornbreaker's Bit of Class (by Carpenny Hurricane) now 11 years - and who very sadly missed out on her championship, her career ended with 2 CAC and many 2nds to the third one! - and great great granddaughter SE U(u) Ch Thornbreaker's Trend For Fashion (by Annuals Trendsetter)
